What is Low Intensity Therapy
and
Guided-Self-Help?
Low Intensity Therapy is a cost-effective form of treatment of common mental health problems which has emerged from research showing that blended-therapy (Online + Professional) can be as effective as in-person only therapy.
This has led to countries like the US, Canada, UK and Australia have adopted a Stepped-Care model of providing Mental Health care.
For Mild to Moderate problems, a lower intensity psychological intervention can be effective and help patients achieve recovery from their difficulties with a less intensive treatment.
This means that sometimes more cose effective treatment can help someone recover from their difficulties with less waiting time.
How does it work?
Following assessment, where a common difficulty with an evidence-base for a low intensity approach is identified, patients are given the option to receive pure-self-help (PSH) or guided-self-help (GSH).
Examples of PSH in German include the DiGAs.
GSH however has a stronger evidence-base as more patients tend to complete a treatment when it is guided by a professional.
We refer to this as Blended-Care.

What does TfD Therapy offer?
For those who have been assessed as having a Mild to Moderate common difficulty with low or no risk where a suitable low intensity programme is available, the patient can choose to try this option first, prior to engaging in 1 to 1 weekly sessions.
Patients will receive an account to the self-help platform TfD Therapy Online (powered by Minddistrict) which is GDPR/DSGVO compliant.
Package 1: Patients will receive weekly written feedback on their progress.
Package 2: Patients will received weekly written feedback + a fortnightly 1:1 live 30minute feedback and support appointment via Live Messaging or Video.
